Mission
The World Languages program at Owings Mills High School strives
to promote linguistic and cultural literacy as well as an appreciation and
enthusiasm for languages and cultures. We believe that all students can
learn a new language and that a global mind-set is fundamental in today’s
society. The study of world languages helps students view issues from a
global perspective so that students can gain an increased knowledge of their
relationship to the world by developing an appreciation for other perspectives,
cultures and beliefs. We believe that students will have a deeper
understanding of their own culture, and the world at large, by closely
examining other cultures, beliefs, and languages.
